Apple Admit’s That the Mac Pro is Trash

At the beginning of the week, Apple’s design team including Phil Schiller, Craig Federighi, and John Ternus had a small discussion with a small group of journalists. At this meeting, Apple Executive Craig Federighi openly admitted to the group that the Mac Pro was something that didn’t really work for the people that they were reaching out to buy this product. A line that stood out from the conversation was:

“I think it’s fair to say, part of why we’re talking today, is that the Mac Pro — the current vintage that we introduced — we wanted to do something bold and different. In retrospect, it didn’t well suit some of the people we were trying to reach. It’s good for some; it’s an amazingly quiet machine, it’s a beautiful machine. But it does not address the full range of customers we wanna reach with Mac Pro… –Craig Federighi

“The lack of updates on the Mac Pro made it obvious that this product was a flop,” said MacWorld.

After that conversation, Apple went ahead on Tuesday and began to make some tweaks to the Mac Pro. They added some new things in the versions of the Mac Pro. For example for the $2,999, they brought down the price of some Mac Pro configurations with faster chips. The entry-level $2,999 Mac Pro model now had 6 Intel Xeon processor cores — compared to 4 cores on the previous configuration – with dual AMD FirePro D500 graphics chips. The $3,999 Mac Pro gets an 8-core Intel Xeon processor with dual AMD FirePro D700 graphics silicon. This didn’t really change anything to the Mac Pro because, for some people, the options that are cheaper was probably not even bought by some people because they didn’t really need that cheap upgrade.

Due to that reason, Apple finally announced that in an event in 2018, Apple will announce the new version of the Mac Pro. They considered the Mac Pro as a Smart Trash Can that can’t do anything and because of that they are looking forward to changing the entire design of the Mac Pro and it will come put with new features. There are some rumors that say that there might be an actual display on the device just like how people are saying for the second version of the Amazon Echo. This is a very short article because it is just some important news that I wanted to share with you guys for today.
